For the May 15th seminar, the afternoon will feature three working breakout sessions. Each session will allow participants to bring primary documents and artifacts to bear on a central question within a designated topic area. Teachers and scholars will work together and discuss the materials and their applications to the classroom.

Breakout A: Who participated in Shays's Rebellion and what were their motivations? Facilitated by Leo Richards and Simon Leutz

Breakout B: How did people communicate in the period surrounding Shays's Rebellion and what were the implications and purposes of different modes of communication? Facilitated by Barbara Mathews and Cheryl Johnston

Breakout C: What was the immediate impact of Shays's rebellion? What were the longer-term impacts?
Facilitated by Jonathan Chu and Thomas Fricke
