Dr. Michael HannahanAlexandra Broomhead
Alexandra is currently working toward her B.A. in Political Science from The University of Massachusetts Amherst with expected completion in May of 2008. At UMass, she serves the student body as a judicial adviser. Her experience includes internships within the offices of Congressman James P. McGovern in Fall River, MA and Senator Edward M. Kennedy in Washington, DC, as well as a research assistantship at The Campaign Finance Institute also in Washington, DC. Some of her interests are non-fiction reading, traveling, tennis and politics.

Jill Smith
Jill Smith is from Walpole MA. She played volleyball throughout high school and was captain of her team for two years. After graduating high school she attended Framingham State College and started the Equestrian Club. She was co-captain and president of the Club. The following year transferred to The University of Massachusetts Amherst where she is working towards her Bachelors degree in political science. She is also a member of the University’s Polo Club and active in other equestrian sports.

Valerie Moore
Valerie is a junior Political Science and Economics double major, with a minor in French, in the honors college at UMass-Amherst. She is from Dedham, Massachusetts.  Valerie has been an intern for former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, in the Office of Constituent Services, and US Senator John Kerry. Valerie is currently the head of the Judicial Advisors Program in the Student Government Association at UMass.  She is an Apartment Living Advisor on campus and is involved in the Pi Sigma Alpha political science honors society and the International Relations Club. Valerie’s hobbies include swimming, running, and reading.

Dr. Michael HannahanAndy Carbaugh
Andy is a sophomore at UMass and a political science major. He grew up in Northampton, Massachusetts, and has been involved in many community service projects including habitat for humanity in the area. Andy began working for the civic initiative in the summer of 2007, and has greatly enjoyed the experiences and opportunities it has provided him with.

Dr. Michael HannahanMichael Janik
Michael Janik is from Northampton Massachusetts. Michael is entering his final year at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and is working towards his B.A. in American Government Studies. His political experience began, while a student at Holyoke Community College interning in the late Congressman Silivo Contes’ District office. As a Summer aide, Michaels’ veteran status let him handle veteran’s issues for the Congressman. His interests include family, politics, fishing and hunting.

Stefanie Costa
Stefanie Costa is from Harvard, Massachusetts. Stefanie is entering her Sophomore year at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and is working toward a B.A. in Political Science and History. For the past three years Stefanie has been a volunteer intern for State Representative Lewis Evangelidis. At UMass, Stefanie is a member of the International Relations Club and competes on the Model United Nations team. She played intramural field hockey her Freshman year and is now part of the newly formed club field hockey team. Stefanie’s interests include, politics, music and sports.

Dr. Michael HannahanEmma Einhorn
Emma Einhorn is from Montclair, New Jersey. Emma is a Junior at the University of Massachusetts Amherst working towards a dual degree in Political Science and Social Thought and Political Economy with a foreign relations certificate. She is currently the secretary of the UMass democrats and works as a research assistant for two professors. Emma was a member of the UMass women’s rowing team for a year and a half winning three gold medals including the Atlantic 10 championship. Emma has a passion for politics and has interned with her local town mayor and worked as a canvasser for various candidate and organizations including Masspirg and is currently volunteering for Barack Obama.

Jonathan Johanntoberns-Tabb
Jonathan is from Hampden, Massachusetts. He graduated from Minnechaug Regional High School in the Spring of 2007. He is currently working toward his B.A. in Political Science, along with a minor in Philosophy at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. Jonathan is also a member of the executive board of the University of Massachusetts Policy Debate Team and the acting Treasurer. His political interests began in high school and his other passions include debate, football, soccer, photography, and movies.

Stephanie Bosley
Stephanie is currently working on her B.A. in Political Science at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and is expected to graduate in May of 2010. She is originally from North Adams, Massachusetts. Although Stephanie's first political experiences are from watching her father, State Representative Daniel Bosley; her own personal political experiences range from several leadership and service learning conferences to interning for Congressmen John Olver in his Pittsfield, MA office. Stephanie is in her second year as a Clarinet player for the University of Massachusetts Minuteman Marching band. Her interests also include singing, music, and photography.
